Auto industry should be changed

According to Khabar Khodro, member of Economic Commission in Parliament said, “We should not accept that auto industry in Iran is the basic industry like before as steel, cement and petrochemical have also affected the industry and the industry of country is not limited to vehicles. In this segment there are no maximum employment like before as in conditions of automakers have changed both in facilities and investment and most of the parts that were produced locally are imported from China now.”

Iraj Nadimi in an interview with Khabar Khodro’s reporter said, “1 to 2 million production capacity of automakers is reached to the 30 to 40 percent of previous amount and there is no need to analyze it as manufacturers confirm that and it can be confirmed with a comprehensive look at conditions in auto industry. Banks cannot enjoy facilities like before so we should also think about changes incustomers’buyingstyles as now they are looking forward to buy efficient cars in order to prevent extra costs of fuel.”

He added, “Supplying parts is one of the automakers’ problems as sanctions have restricted availability of parts. These show that auto industry should be changed, which include innovation, quality and other issues. Effects of jobbers are evident in this market. Closing one site in a short period after opening and problem in delivering products to customers are evidences of problems in auto industry.”

Finally, he told, “Safetyof vehicles andguaranteeconditions should be done better and if essential changes are not made,auto industry would be threatened.”
