Mass production of Simurgh in second half of this year

According to Khabar Khodro, the CEO of Saipa said, “This year 600000 units of vehicles would be produced in this company, which is about double the amount of last year.”

Saeid Madani during nomination of Saipa’s new products said to reporters that “average production capacity of Saipa has increased 50 percent from beginning of this year”.

He mentioned that 232 that was named Saina (Simurgh) and Tiba 2 and Tiba hatch would gradually replace Pride and he also announced that mass production of Saina would commence in second half of this year.

Madani added, “This year, 25000 units of Saina would be produced and launched in market. And with increasing its production capacity, the amount would reach to 100000 units annually.”

He told, “Cars based on X200 platform would be sold with 30 to 40 percent price increase compared to Pride and with a price tag of 28 to 29 million toman.”

He admitted, “We have plans to export 50000 units of vehicles in this year to markets in Iraq, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Nigeria, Venezuela and 30 other countries.”

He remarked, “Along with activating manufacturing sites in other countries we also consider exporting CBU cars according to the rules of target markets.”

The CEO of Saipa added, “We would not invest for production in other countries and investments are due to local investors. Saipa just exports parts and helps for technical support for these countries.”

He told, “In order to control prices and setting up car market in a short time, Saipa has immediate sale in its agenda.”

He said, “Considering the experience of cooperation with Kia Motors we have plans for mass production of cars with their assistance and we are finalizing production line of Cerato sedan.”

He admitted, “We have cooperation with Nissan and Renault and we are trying to interact with other countries, too.”
