Increasing prices would not solve the problems of auto industry

According to Khabar Khodro, member of board of management in Parts Makers' Association said, "Increasing prices announced by Council on Competitiveness is a step toward solving problems of auto industry but now this amount of increase would not solve any problem."

Farhad Beh Nia in an interview with Khabar Khodro's reporter told, "Created conditions and new prices somehow have improved the situation of cars prices but there is a long way to balancing the condition."

He remarked, "Comparing current prices with those in market margin we would see 2 to 8 million toman difference in prices of cars."

He added, "Current condition shows that still there are economic corruptions in auto market and it would not exit this situation so easily."

He admitted, "With determining cars' prices in market margin the production capacity would be increased and certainly it would result in decreasing the prices."

The member of Parts Makers' Association added, "With current situation of pricing cars, mediators are still in auto market and would prevent decrease in cars' prices."

Beh Nia said, "Considering 25 to 30 percent price increase of ingredients, 5 percent increase in cars prices is not logical."

He told, "Cars' prices should be increased about 25 percent but considering the market it may not be logical but prices in market margin is 10 to 12 percent more than factory price."

Finally, he said, "The best solution is to assigning cars prices to market margin."
