Producing 4 new products of Peugeot and Renault in Iran Khodro

According to Khabar Khodro, Peugeot has asked Iran Khodro for developing new joint venture company in order to manufacture new products, improve exports and use its research and development power.

Engineer Hashem Yeke Zare', the CEO of Iran Khodro said, "Peugeot is going to develop a 50:50 joint company with Iran Khodro."

He added, "According to this agreement, Peugeot is due to offer platform for manufacturing new product and it is also responsible for exports of Iran Khodro in this region."

He announced that developing joint R&D center with Peugeot Citroen is considered in this agreement and in first phase of this cooperation Peugeot 301 and 2008 would be produced and admitted, "Agreement with Peugeot would be based on the manufacturing its products and joint products with power of Iranian automakers and not by CKD parts."

He also announced the agreement for manufacturing products with Renault and told, "In first phase of cooperation with Renault, Clio 4 and Capture would be launched in market in second half of this year. One of them is in small car class and uses 5 L/100 km."

 About plan of Iran Khodro for producing 10 to 15 models by next three years Yeke Zare' said, "Three of them would be designed and produced with Iran Khodro brand."

He announced negotiation with best Chinese automakers and told, "Previously we have talked with two Chinese companies and now it is decided to import their new products while considering quality issues."

He remarked, "About 10 percent of Iran Khodro products would be Chinese ones and a new sedan and a crossover would come in Iran soon, which would use TU5 engine of Peugeot and would be made locally."

Finally, the CEO of Iran Khodro told, "According to evaluations of Iran Standard and Quality Inspection Company, all products of Iran Khodro are in well rate level but we are committed to improve quality for costumers."
