Council on competitiveness should exit the discussion of pricing cars

According to Khabar Khodro, member of board of directors in Commission of Industries and Mines in Parliament told, "At the meeting hold with board of directors in Commission of Industries and Mines, Minister of Industry and Mine, A three-member review committee on auto prices and officials of automakers, it was decided that automakers reduce the prices of high circulation vehicles by 5 percent and Commission of Industries in Parliament has promised to support companies in supplying ingredients with good prices and in short time."

Seyed Mohammad Bayatian in an interview with Khabar Khodro's reporter said, "Automakers have announced some of the problems at the meeting and at the end members of board of directors in Commission of Industries and three-member review committee on auto prices have concluded that 3 percent reduction that Council on Competitiveness has asked automakers is appropriate. However, still Commission of Industries and Mines is insisting that the formula using by Council on Competitiveness is not correct and should be revised."

He remarked, "According to the objection of automakers, which is saying that recent increase in prices was so little and just for VAT, numbering and third party insurance it was decided to make reviews in this issue."

He admitted, "If automakers and Commission of Industries and Mines in Parliament do their obligations and supply the ingredients of companies in a short time and with low prices directly it would help reducing the cost of producing prices of automakers."

He added, "It is not known that cars' prices would decrease more or not? But we expect that prices would decrease more."

Bayatian reiterated, "We believe that Council on Competitiveness should not interfere in pricing cars as in law it is said that the Council should only determine the pricing process."
