Offering increase in tariff of importing cars for next year's budget

According to Khabar Khodro, member of Commission of Industries and Mines in Parliament said, "Government should consider its offer on increase in tariff of importing cars for next year's budget as it is the tariff rate that today delimits the amount of importing cars in country."

Behrouz Nemati in an interview with Khabar Khodro's reporter told, "Decreasing tariff of cars from 90 to 40 percent has resulted in increasing imports to country and it seems that considering five years plan of government and continuation of decreasing tariff we would see increase in importing cars."

He added, "Cars' tariff should be increased in order to reduce the amount of imports."

He remarked, "Certainly, with increasing the tariff of imports, people who want luxury cars should pay costs and tariff."

About issues on using governmental exchange by some importers he reiterated, "Now the best solution is increasing tariff of importing cars and certainly such a decision would prevent many problems in this sector."

About problems of increasing imports he told, "Sudden reduce of cars' tariff to 40 percent was not a good job and now this issue is causing some problems in this sector."

Finally he admitted, "Why people should offer the costs of luxury cars? I believe that who wants use such cars should pay its costs by him and certainly increasing tariff would result in paying costs by consumer."
