According to Khabar Khodro, Secretary of Iran Automakers' Association told, "According to section C of note 2 in 93 budget law, Oil Ministry is allowed to organize up to 100 milliard dollar investment for reducing fuel consumption and supply benefits of investors from sources of saving."

100 milliard dollar support of Oil Ministry for optimizing fuel consumption

According to Khabar Khodro, Secretary of Iran Automakers' Association told, "According to section C of note 2 in 93 budget law, Oil Ministry is allowed to organize up to 100 milliard dollar investment for reducing fuel consumption and supply benefits of investors from sources of saving."

Ahmad Nemat Bakhsh in an interview with Khabar Khodro's reporter said, "According to this issue and note 2 in budget law of this year, a trilateral agreement is going to be signed by Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, Oil Ministry and Ministry of Interior in order to renew 17000 units of CNG or electric city buses in addition, an agreement would be signed between Ministry of Works and Urban Development Oil Ministry and Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade for renewal of 60000 units of old trucks."

He added, "According to this agreement, automakers could take exchange from National Development Fund for importing CKD parts."

"Therefore, owner of an old vehicle can exit its vehicle from cycle and take some money for its corpse form Transportation and Fuel Management Staff based on an agreement with a leasing company. So, Oil Ministry would pay some parts of leasing installments while the old car is replaced by a new one and remained parts would be paid by owner."

He remarked, "It is the same for trucks. It is expected that Oil Minister pay 200 million toman in 4 or 5 years for each truck and the remaining would be paid by owner."

He admitted, "Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade has advised automakers to consider developing hybrid and electric vehicles in order to save fuel and reduce pollution."

Nemat Bakhsh added, "Also there are some negotiations about support of government from costumers of such cars in some countries of world in order to motivate people for buying them."

He told, "Fortunately, now Engine Research Center of Iran Khodro has launched two prototypes of these cars as a project and it was decided to continue such activities and offer them to government."

He said that there is no infrastructure in Iran for developing and launching electric vehicles and added, "Certainly, Government should first prepare necessary beds for launching hybrid and electric vehicles."
