City busses would be equipped with DPF filters from Mehr of 95

According to Khabar Khodro, secretary of Iran Automakers' Association said, "There is no ultimatum for automakers from government."

Ahmad Nemat Bakhsh in an interview with Khabar Khodro's reporter about offering tome plan for achieving Euro 6 or Euro 4 standard for diesel vehicles and installing DPF filter told, "The issue is related to the act that recently was announced by government and there is no ultimatum for it. According to this act, heavy and medium diesel vehicles inside and outside of the city should be equipped with DPF filter, which was delayed after some meetings with Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade and EPA, considering the necessity of offering standard gasoline in whole country."

He added, "Since the Oil Ministry could not have offer Euro 4 diesel fuel entirely as the result of lack of financial resources, in an expert meeting it was announced that it is not possible to install the DPF filter as necessary fuel is not ready."

He admitted, "Therefore, some letters were sent to foreign companies in order to make it possible to install DPF filter on Euro 3 busses and trucks. But those companies have announced that because of high amount of sulfur in our fuel it is necessary to offer Euro 4 fuel for installing these filters."

He remarked, "The issue was studied in different meetings with EPA and Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade and finally it was decided that from Mehr of 95 city busses to be equipped with these filters and form first of year 96 all diesel vehicles should be offered with Euro 4 standard and DPF filter."

He reiterated, "There is long time remaining and companies would be able to offer their timeline plans in remaining time.

Nemat Bakhsh added, "However, there is time for vehicles inside city but diesel vans and trucks only have time until first of Azar 94."
