Chrysler recalls 11,351 units for improper installation of steering column

Again one more recall this week made people wonder what’s going on among the automakers in the world.

According to KHABAR KHODRO, Mazda had recalled its Mazda3, Porsche had recalled its 911, and now Chrysler is recalling 11,351 units by stating that the installation of steering column is not correct.

Chrysler Group LLC had announced the recall of 11,351 units of Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep brands for one particular reason and that is of incorrect installation of steering column.

The recall includes the 2011 Chrysler 200, Chrysler 200 Convertible, Chrysler Town and Chrysler Country, Dodge Avenger, Dodge Nitro, Dodge Caliber, Dodge Grand Caravan, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Liberty, Jeep Compass, and Jeep Patriot.

Well, this seems a lot of vehicles have to get back to their home to sort out the error. However, not all the vehicles will have to return, but those who were produced from April 12 to May 6 this year.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration had reported that some vehicles manufactured by Chrysler show glitch of the steering column that might have been improperly installed. On the other hand, they also announced that the steering column could either be missing or have an incorrectly installed pivot rivet.

Since this seems a big issue, customers who own one of these vehicles manufactured between the given periods will have to report to the Chrysler dealers and get the things done in order to prevent further complications.
