2013 Pathfinder Expected to Boost Nissan’s Sales

According to khabarkhodro، The new 2013 Nissan  Pathfinder was finally revealed in its full production glory , and the Japanese automaker is looking forward to a boost in sales with the redesigned SUV.

Powered by a 3.5-liter V6 with 260-hp, the 2013 Pathfinder  is expected to get the best fuel economy in its segment – 20/26/22 mpg city/highway/combined – with a starting price of under $30,000. As we mentioned before, the 2013 Pathfinder shaves 500 lbs compared to its predecessor thanks to a shift to a unibody chassis. Combine the weight savings and the powerplant with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and its fuel efficiency could be the best of any V6-powered, seven-seater SUV.

This vehicle has 30% better fuel economy than its predecessor and it is class leading in its segment,” said Carla Bailo, senior vice president of research and development for Nissan.

The Japanese automaker hopes the redesigned Pathfinder will breathe life into the SUV model. Waning sales in recent years has made the Pathfinder model an afterthought in the market, with direct competitors such as the Ford  Explorer and Toyota  Highlander selling more than 100,000 models a piece compared to the Pathfinder’s meager 25,935 last year.
