Nissan Leaf milestone, 50,000 cars sold worldwide

According to khabar khodro، Nissan has recently announced a new milestone which involves the Leaf, after 50,000 units of the electric vehicle have been sold worldwide.

the Nissan Leaf is the most popular electric car in the world, and now figures are backing up this statement. Nissan has managed to sell a total of 50,000 units of the “green” car, and all owners of the model have made more than 418 million km in their rides. The most km have been made by a car in Japan, 175,000, but a notable “experience” is that of a Spanish man, who did 43,000 km in a single year.

While in Asia and in Europe the Leaf is doing quite well, this can’t be said about the North American market, where just 10,000 units of the model have been sold annually, half of the initial target. The Nissan Leaf has even received a price cut recently in markets like the United States, Australia or the United Kingdom, but this is just a simple marketing strategy, considering the fact that the 2013 model year has been launched and in Japan, the entry-level S version starts at 3,349,500 yen.
