Reduction of cars’ prices is rumor

According to Khabar Khodro, member of board of directors in part makers association said, “Cars prices are subsidiary of total costs including exchange rate and any price change is possible with exchange rate changes in auto industry.”

Mohammadreza Najafi Manesh added, “As exchange rate changes seem impossible, the prices also cannot be changed.”

He told, “Increasing exchange rate will affect the costs of car production and because of some issues like sanctions the production capacity has also reached to one third.”

Najafi Manesh with notifying that local cars’ quality has been increasing every year added, “for example, Tondar 90 is produced with same quality of foreign Tondars.”

About Value-added tax he said, “Taking money is in 3 to 6 months intervals after selling parts of car but its tax is taken at the same time. We hope that the situation of automakers and parts makers to be considered.”

He mentioned that in recent years the interest of automakers and parts makers were 5 percent and added, “Nothing new will happen about cars’ prices.”
