Switching the catalyst of public vehicles in Saipa

According to Khabar Khodro, the CEO of Saipa has announced the cooperation of this company with Iran Transport and Fuel Administration for replacing old cars and switching the catalyst of public vehicles and taxis in Tehran in order to have clean air.

Saeid Madani, the CEO of Saipa said, "Fortunately, from the first of this year we could produce and launch all of our products based on Euro 4 standards with efforts of all workers in company, despite different problems in supplying exchange and difficulties in production and sanctions in auto industry."

He told, "According to recent statistics, about 80 percent of pollution in big cities is the result of moving polluting sources, most of which is related to old and non-standard vehicles. So, based on cooperation of Saipa with Iran Transport and Fuel Administration an agreement has been signed by two organizations."

He announced that the cooperation of Saipa with Iran Transport and Fuel Administration is fully voluntary and added, "After 3 years, Saipa Auto Group has started renewal of old cars voluntarily and based on its agreement in order to reduce air pollution in Tehran. In this project, 20000 units of Saipa products would replace the old cars."

He mentioned that another reason of air pollution is the move of non-standard vehicles in country and remarked, "Some of the moving vehicles are not reached to the age of frazzle and replacement but they are out of standards and need to switch catalyst and have technical review."

Madani admitted, "In this issue Saipa is also leader and is applying an especial plan for switching catalyst of all public vehicles and taxis in Tehran."

He added, "Catalyst is a part of vehicle that all owners should change it according to determined standard and after moving some mileage but unfortunately the action is not done. As public vehicles pass long distances this need is more felt therefore since year 1391 until now the catalyst of 2500 units of taxis have changed with cooperation of Tehran Municipal and Environment Agency in Tehran."
