Criticizing uncertainty in rules as serious problem in car making companies

According to Khabar Khodro, the CEO of Zamyad has criticized some irrelevant laws in country and said that uncertainty in rules is among problems of automakers and asked officials to not change rules continuously and to explain vague ones.

Fereydoun Hamidi in an interview with Khabar Khodro's reporter told, "In year 93 we could only import 3000 units of diesel engines from 6000 to 7000 planned units as the result of uncertainty in rules. Until the mid of last year it was not known that euro 3 or euro 4 standard would be applied for diesel engines and this has caused uncertainty for companies."

He added, "Quick change of rules is not accepted by companies and if government wants to apply some changes should base them on reasoning and logic. In addition, those vague laws should be determined briefly."

He admitted, "While local automakers had no identity, Zamyad was producing Volvo N12 and N10 trucks that still exist. Other potential and advantage of Zamyad is cooperation with 3 famous brands in the world and this cooperation has resulted in their presence in Iran."

He remarked, "One of these brands is Volvo, which later was allocated to Saipa Diesel according to Saipa policies. Other product that Zamyad has imported and has an effective role in economy of country is the Japanese Nissan that now is produced as Nissan truck and no company could have replaced it."

He reiterated, "The third brand that was imported by Zamyad is IVECO, which is also one of the famous global brands."

Hamidi remarked, "Today life and death of Zamyad is based on mass production but our approach is to manage mass product. In addition to mass product, now we are the only dealer of IVECO in Iran and region."

He added, "If we continue our activities with old thoughts certainly we would not be successful. So we should decide wisely and accurately in order to manage sources and consumes better."
