Saipa is trying to attract foreign direct investment in its value chain

According to Khabar Khodro, a team for determining how Saipa Auto Group would be presented in Third International Conference of Auto Industry that would be hold in Esfand is organized.

Engineer Joleini, chief of communicationsand international relations in Saipa in an interview has talked about the issue.

When asked about the goal of this conference and its conductors he said, “International Conference of Auto Industry is holding with the goal of developing business with international automakers and parts makers with priority of attracting direct foreign investments. According to this goal, three basic pillars are determined for theme of conference. First pillar is competitiveness in supply chain, design and engineering and production efficiency with focus on environment and social duties. In this segment we would be focused on local capabilities and potentials. The second pillar is related to international cooperation in regional markets and explaining investment opportunities in auto making and supply chain, cooperation models and our expectations from foreign investors.”

He added, “As any investment in an industry is based on future procedures, the third pillar is determined as future proceduresin auto industry. These procedures would be about new technologies, energy and environment, safety and services. In this conference, foreign speakers would have the opportunity to announce their needs for investing in Iran. The conference is holding with cooperation of Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, Iran Industrial Development and RenovationOrganization, carmakers’ association, parts makers’ association, after sales services association, Saipa Auto Group and Iran Khodro Industrial Group.”

He told, “As previous conferences were hold during sanctions, it was difficult for foreign partners to invest in Iran despite our potential in auto industry. However, presence of representatives from great European companies such as Renault, Peugeot, Fiat, Mercedes-Benz and Toyota and their willingness to enter Iran market after resolving sanctions can be accounted as results of these conferences.”

He admitted, “In previous conferences Saipa has also introduced its group and investment opportunities and expectations for commercial business comprehensively.”

He remarked, “Fortunately, third conference would be hold when Geneva deals about Iran nuclear plans are done and we hope that these events could be effective in attracting foreign investment.”

He reiterated,“Considering Saipa’s activities in all segments including commercial, heavy duty, light duty and passenger vehicles and parts making it would follow all procedures of the conference.”
