According to Khabar Khodro, First automatic Cerato has been produced in Saipa
Engineer Sharyar Rezaee Far, Cerato project manager at Saipa told, “Opening Cerato production line for test production is done and mass market production of the vehicle would commence from first of Mordad. According to plans, about 4000 to 5000units of the Cerato would be produced in Saipa by year end.”
He mentioned that production capacity of Cerato in Saipa is 12000 to 15000 units annually and added, “The plan of supply and importing CKD packs is finalized with Kia. The car would be produced in two variants including 1600 cc engine with normal gearbox and 2000 cc engine mated to automatic gearbox.”
Rezaee Far said, “Kia Motors is the old partner of Saipa and they have had some cooperation experiences with each other. We hope that their cooperation would be more in future.”
According to this report, Cerato is one of the high quality vehicles in the world and it is produced in Kia Motors in high volume.
