The plan of organizing and managing importing cars in Automotive Policy Council

According to Khabar Khodro, Secretary of Iran Car Making Association has announced the proposal to Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade for organizing importing cars and told, "In this proposal, which was offered to Policy Council, it was advised that in cooperation of two Iranian and foreign companies the permission of production and import to be taken to local manufacturer."

Ahmad Nemat Bakhsh in an interview with Khabar Khodro's reporter added, "The plan is determined in order to offering some points to manufacturers and supporting local automakers."

He said, "The plan is now analyzing in Automotive Policy Council and it would be finalized."

He admitted, "According to standards and criteria adopted by Supreme Council of Standard, all production and imported cars should have 55 district standards of Europe EEC and fortunately until now all these standards are followed in Imported and produced cars in country."

He also mentioned to increased number of imports and producing Chinese products in country and remarked, "In a condition that there were some problems in cooperation with European and western automakers as the result of sanctions, many Chinese companies have accompanied us well so it's not logistic to onslaught Chinese cars."

He said I do not want to advocate Chinese products and reiterated, "I believe that there are determined standards for production and importing cars and if any importer or manufacturer follows them it can import or produce them otherwise it should be stopped."
