According to Khabar Khodro, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade said, "According to the approach of Iran auto industry we should reach first place of auto making in region, fifth place in Asia and 11th place in world within next 10 years."
According to the reporter of Khabar Khodro, engineer Muhammad Reza Nematzade added, "Achieving foreign investments is one of the basic policies of auto industry in Iran. Now we are in 17th place of production of passenger cars in world and 19th place of world's auto industry is dedicated to Iran, which has grown two scores compared to last year."
During Second International Conference on Automotive Industry he told, "In this year goals, policies and plans of next 10 years of auto industry until year 1404 are determined."
He admitted, "In this plans and policies there some issues such as achieving first place of region, 5th place in Asia and 11th place in world."
He remarked, "Until the end of this view we should increase production to 3 million light passenger cars and export 1 million vehicles."
He reiterated, "according to these plans, it is expected to produce 25 milliard dollars of local parts and export of 5 to 6 milliard dollars parts along with the program for producing 120000 units of commercial vehicles annually and exporting 30000 units of them."
Nematzade told, "Now financial turn over in auto industry is about 12 milliard dollars and we hope to face 30 percent growth next year."
He admitted, "Now employment in auto industry is about 10 to 12 percent of whole industry employment in country."
He added, "This year we had produced 824000 units of vehicles, which has accomplished 95 percent of production plans and we expect more effort from automakers by year end. In addition, we hope that in 2014 the highest number of growth to be dedicated to Iran."
"Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade is willing to develop auto industry and make competition along with improving supply chain in order to reduce dependency to oil revenue."
