Suzuki announces prices and specifications for new Vitara

According to Khabar Khodro, ever since its arrival back in 1988, the Suzuki Vitara series has earned acclaim for its compact, city-oriented dimensions and genuine off-road capability. The series has evolved through changes in body size and powertrain and now, more than 25 years after the original model’s debut, the all-new Vitara is set to hit the showrooms across Europe.

Suzuki says the new Vitara has smaller dimensions to meet modern needs and incorporates the brand’s ALLGRIP four-wheel-drive system as an option. Standard equipment on all models include seven airbags, 16-inch alloy wheels, audio system with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control with speed limiter, auto air conditioning, front and rear electric windows and projector headlamps. More expensive versions add 17-inch silver painted alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, smartphone link audio and navigation system.

The top-spec model, meanwhile, ends up with LED projector headlights, 17-inch polished alloy wheels, key less entry with start button, adaptive cruise control and panoramic sunroof.

The new Vitara is powered by Suzuki’s M16A 1.6-litre petrol engine or the D16AA 1.6-litre DDiS engine. While the latter develops 120bhp of power and 320Nm of torque, the petrol engine puts out similar power but makes do with 156Nm of torque.

The new Vitara will go on sale in the UK with prices ranging between £13,999 and £21,299 depending on the variant.
