Volkswagen has officially announced pricing for the 2012 Beetle.
According to KHABAR KHODRO, Pricing will start at $18,995 for the base model equipped with a 170-hp, 2.5-liter five cylinder engine ($19,765 including $770 in destination charges). The Beetle is capable of 22 mpg city and 31 mpg highway when equipped with the standard five-speed manual transmission.
The 2.0-liter 200-hp turbocharged four-cylinder Beetle will cost $23,395 and achieve 22 mpg city and 30 mpg highway when equipped with the optional DSG transmission. This model will also receive Bluetooth and iPod connectivity, larger brakes, a spoiler and metal pedals along with other features.
However, pricing has not yet been announced for the 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine which is good for 40mpg. This engine will produce 140-hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. VW stated this engine will make the 2012 Beetle the most efficient car in the nameplate’s history.
Three different trim levels, and the killer Fender audio system will also be available.
