Iran hosted the first such conference last year with the theme “Nuclear Energy for All, Nuclear Weapon for None,” according to a Press TV reporter on Saturday.

Now the Islamic Republic is to host the second such event at expert level which brings together delegates from different nations across the world, including the United States.

Nuclear experts, ambassadors and representatives from international bodies such as the UN and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will also be present at the gathering.

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Mahdi Akhoundzadeh told reporters that the two-day event comprises three specialized panels which will discuss the doctrines of nuclear powers, take practical measures to have a world free of weapons of mass destruction and review regional as well as international disarmament commitments.

“The second conference that we are going to host in a few days' time in Tehran is the continuation of a sustainable effort by the Islamic Republic of Iran on the past twenty years,” Akhoundzadeh told Press TV.

The Iranian official further explained that the panels will also review the performance of other international summits and discuss more than forty articles.

The Iranian deputy foreign minister pointed out that the conference will also shed light on Israel's policy of deliberate ambiguity on nuclear weapons.

He further complained that the US and its allies continue to put pressure on non-nuclear weapons states such as Iran while ignoring Tel Aviv's growing nuclear threat to the Middle East.

Israel is said to have more than 250 nuclear warheads.

According to Akhoundzadeh, there should be a “legal” and “binding” document which would oblige nuclear weapons states to dismantle their nukes.

Iran plans to hold the 3rd International Nuclear Disarmament Conference at ministerial level where the country will once again promote its message that all nations are entitled to peaceful nuclear energy
