Audi to launch their smallest and cheapest SUV – Q3 in India by 2012

German car manufacturer, Audi started the production of their all new Q3 SUV in Spain earlier this week.

According to KHABAR KHODRO, Audi Q3 is expected to arrive in the European and US markets later this year, but no detail was officially revealed regarding Audi Q3’s India launch.

Mr Sirish Chandran, Editor, Overdrive, has predicted that Audi will be launching Q3 in India next year. Though nothing about its price and specs was officially revealed, we expect Audi to price the Q3 in the range of BMW X1 approximately at Rs 22 lakhs.

In Germany, Q3 will be launched with a price tag of €29,900. In India, Audi will import Q3 as a CKD unit and will assemble it at their unit in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Expect Audi to avail Q3 in both petrol and diesel variants.

A 2.0L diesel engine that generates 170 bhp and a 2.0L petrol engine that generates 211 bhp are probably expected to be offered to the Indian buyer. Quattro technology will probably not be included in the Audi Q3 as these small SUV’s are expected to be FWD’s.
