GM dealers will offer free 3-month Sirius XM on all used models

Satellite radio operator Sirius XM Radio Inc. said customers purchasing a pre-owned vehicle will automatically receive a three-month According to KHABAR KHODRO, subscription at more than 1,000 participating General Motors dealerships across the United States.

All vehicles, regardless of the manufacturer, are included in the offer.

"For the first time ever, participating GM dealers are able to give their pre-owned vehicle customers a three-month subscription to Sirius XM regardless of vehicle brand," Joe Verbrugge, a senior vice president at Sirius XM, said in a statement today.

Sirius XM said GM dealers will continue to offer the three-month subscription of Sirius XM to purchasers of pre-owned Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC vehicles factory-equipped with satellite radio until the end of 2011.

Earlier this year, Sirius XM CEO Mel Karmazin attributed the company's ongoing financial rebound from its near-bankruptcy experience in 2009 to the auto industry.

As of March 31, Sirius XM reported 20.6 million total subscribers, up 9 percent from the same period a year earlier. During the first quarter, the company added 373,064 new subscribers, a 118 percent increase over the same quarter last year.
