Italian automaker Ferrari forbidden to run in series production sports car a modern version of the legendary Lancia Stratos, which still exists in one copy. At the moment, the desire to acquire such a machine has expressed more than 40 clients in various European countries, but now the construction of additional copies of the new “Stratos” in jeopardy.
As stated in an official statement, the company Ferrari «not allow studio Pininfarina and other providers under the authority of the brand Ferrari, manufacture modern version of the car Lancia “Stratos”. This decision was taken due to the fact that the commodity would be used sports car chassis models Ferrari F360 or F430. Studio Pininfarina also officially announced that it will now engage in a new project, “Stratos” only with the written permission of the “Ferrari”.
The site dedicated to the new Lancia Stratos, also notes that at present negotiations are held with other partners on the use of other units for the car and establishing small-scale production.
Modern “Stratos” was developed by Pininfarina studio by special order German businessman Michael Strosheka. The car is built on the platform and the Ferrari F430 Scuderia is equipped with uprated to 540 horsepower 4.3-liter V8 engine and an upgraded transmission. As previously reported, from zero to hundred kilometers per hour this machine is able to accelerate in 3.3 seconds and up to 200 kilometers per hour – over 9.7 seconds. For comparison, Ferrari 458 Italia and Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera spend acceleration to 200 km 10.4 and 10.2 seconds respectively.
Development of a unique sports car cost Stoschek approximately three million euros. In the case of small-scale production of this car, it would cost to customers in the 400-545 thousand euros. Customers would pay around 100 thousand euros for the “donor» (Ferrari F430 Scuderia) and spend another 300-400 thousand in fine-tuning of the machine in accordance with their requirements.
