Wireless car being tested by UK Firm

A new concept of wireless car which can charge itself wirelessly, is being tested by a UK based firm which is expected to be showcased at the approaching Frankfurt Motor Show.

According to KHABAR KHODRO, Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Neil Butcher of HaloIPT, a UK based firm said that this technology has a lot of possibilities in the coming years.

Giving more details on the kind of technology that will be in place, Butcher said that electric vehicles will sport a specially designed electromagnetic conductor plate in the underbelly along with interactive hardware which will interact with charged plates fitted on the ground when the vehicle is parked above them.

The driver of the vehicle needs to park the car strategically so that on return the drivers will find the job complete and car duly charged and can then just drive off. No hassles of plugging and unplugging vehicles or having to deal with chargers especially in public. Butcher is looking at long term plans as something like this will take some time as it will involve gigantic infrastructure and mammoth costs.

Mr. Butcher uses his wireless car to commute to his office in Birmingham. Recharging at present is a laborious task with use of unwieldy cables, but with wireless charging Butcher just needs to park his car over a special rubber mat which is connected to a charging station and the work is done.
