Tata Motors ready to take the next step, to assemble Nano and Ace in Easter Europe, Indonesia and Brazil by next year

Tata Motors is in the process of inking deals to set up assembling units in Indonesia, Brazil and Eastern Europe. Once the paperwork is done, Tata Motors will be able to assemble Nano small car and Ace SCV (Small Commercial Vehicle) in these countries by 2012.

According to KHABAR KHODRO, At the company's Annual General Meeting, Mr. Rattan Tata, Chairman of Tata Motors said this would increase Tata's global recognition if vehicles such as Nano and Ace were assembled in foreign countries, especially Europe.

Tata Motors is also weighing possibilities of setting such units in parts of Brazil. Variable sales of Nano in domestic markets had made the company export Nano to countries like Sri Lanka and Nepal. Domestic sales have barely crossed 1 lakh units while Tata Motors unit in Sanand which has an annual capacity of over 2.5 lakh units is at present underutilized.

Tata also said that the company was working in alliance with Jaguar and Land Rover to bring out new hybrid and electric vehicles. The company is also about to launch an electric car for UK and Norway
