Judging by recent rate of sales, Brazil is poised to overtake Japan in a run for third place in the car market.

As per reports, Brazil's car market is expected to reach 6.6 million by 2020 and production to 5.5 million.
Chinese and Indian auto manufacturers are also looking at Brazil to export their vehicles which would result in about 10% market share in the coming ten years. Top auto companies like Ford, Fiat and VW have already established themselves in Brazil but will face stiff competition from cheaper cars imported from China and India.
Roland Berger Strategy Consultants expects Brazil to rank as the world's third largest car market in 2015. In regards to India, the consultants say the country will ship its cars to Brazil. Q3 in 2011 is the first time the Indian car market has experience slow car sales in two years time.
