Toyota celebrated 2 million Yaris made in Europe

The Japanese based automaker Toyota is celebrating the two million Yaris made in Europe, with the vehicle “wearing” the same number rolling off the production line in Valenciennes, France, in the form of a 1.5 liter D-4D, five-door model being painted in the company’s Burning Red.

“This important milestone was achieved thanks to the hard work and dedication of all our members in TMMF. With the arrival of the new Toyota Yaris, TMMF is entering a dynamic new era. The latest model offers a promising prospect for our plant in Valenciennes”, as the president of Toyota Motor Manufacturing France, Makoto Sano, said.

Production of the Yaris at the Valenciennes plant originally began back in January 2001 with an annual production of 150.000 units, and this has reached a peak of 262.000 units in 2007.

Until the production of the new Toyota Yaris Hybrid will begin next year at TMMF (Toyota Motor Manufacturing France), the small model knows what popularity is and will definitely attract more customers after receiving a five-star rating at the recent Euro NCAP tests.

The new generation of the Toyota Yaris is coming with seven airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag, ABS, Electronic Brake force Distribution, Cornering Stability Control, Brake Assist, Traction Control and Vehicle Stability Control.
