According to KHABARKHODRO, Toyota Motor Corp. said it will normalize vehicle production in Japan from Nov. 21 to Nov. 25 after curbing domestic output since late October due to parts supply chain disruptions induced by the massive flood in Thailand.

Japan's largest automaker said in a statement it will decide what to do regarding domestic output from Nov. 28 and overseas production from Nov. 21 after considering future developments.

Toyota is resuming some production as the outlook for securing electronics components and other auto parts has improved at least for a limited period, it said.

The prospect for a full normalization of its production levels is not yet known, it said.

As for the week from Nov. 21, Toyota's domestic output will be more than 95 percent of its originally planned level, Toyota officials said.

Toyota plans to increase production levels in Pakistan to nearly normal next week, but production elsewhere in Asia will remain restricted, they said.

The automaker earlier said its total worldwide output cuts forced by the flooding since October to this Saturday will come to 150,000 vehicles.

Toyota announced in August that it planned to manufacture 7.15 million vehicles worldwide for 2011. But the production goal is increasingly becoming difficult to achieve due to the effects of the prolonged flood.

"We will seek to minimize the flood's impact on our financial results for the year to March by making up for the (flood-induced) output cutbacks as much as possible by March 31," a senior Toyota official said.
