According to Khabarkhodro, while the secretariat of Iran Vehicles Manufacturing Association mentioned the trend of gas powered automobiles in the country, declared “ IFCO ( Iranian Fuel Conservation Company) offered the plan of changing vehicles into duel fuel ones from Tir 1386 in order to increase the gas utilization in the country. It was approved by government in spite of Iran Vehicles Manufacturing Association disagreement.

Reason for decreasing in production of gas powered cars in Iran

According to Khabarkhodro, while the secretariat of Iran Vehicles Manufacturing Association mentioned the trend of gas powered automobiles in the country, declared “ IFCO ( Iranian Fuel Conservation Company) offered the plan of changing vehicles into duel fuel ones from Tir 1386 in order to increase the gas utilization in the country. It was approved by government in spite of Iran Vehicles Manufacturing Association disagreement.

“ The main reasons of this opposition were the lack of gas supply for the vehicles, the lack of permission of the main manufacturing company for shifting the car, unsuitable place for capsule in trunk, and also the lack of capsule supplement in the vehicles”, Ahmad Nemat Bakhsh added.

He said “Of course, such oppositions were not efficient and it was confirmed the 60 percent production of duel fuel automobiles in the next approval and also faced with oppositions.

He replied the argument of IFCO that the plan is economical: “Iran Vehicles Manufacturing Association addressed how Russia as the biggest country in gas production has serious plans in manufacturing duel fuel.

While he mentioned the 10 percent place of duel fuel cars in fuel storage of the country, in respect of low production of duel fuel cars, added, “Another reason is that there is no desire for these cars so that manufacturers produce according to the need of market.”

He declared that after few years of approval of gas powered cars, IFCO is concerned with diesel vehicles and encourage other companies to produce gasoline engine cars.

  Also, the secretariat of Iran Vehicles Manufacturing Association reminded the Petroleum Ministry commitment for fuel supplement with Euro5 standard since 1390 and declared: “According to Petroleum Ministry commitment it will be supplied in Tehran the Euro5 petrol and gasoline from Bahman and will be delivered in other cities from Mehr of 1391. In this respect such measures have been considered to encourage the manufacturers to produce diesel sedans. Of course, some companies have worked in this matter.

Nemat Bakhsh mentioned that the lack of self-sufficiency in petrol production caused the decision making of gas engine cars, and said: “ the plan of gas powered cars in last years have been approved for being self-sufficient for petrol.

He announced that gas engine cars have less pollution and added: gas engine car productions have the problems such as more weight, more fuel consumption and more place in trunk.

While he mentioned that about 50 percent of sedans in the world have diesel motors, said that the diesel vehicles have many advantages because of their high efficiency. So, a gasoline fueled vehicle needs less repair and in contrast of petrol fuel vehicles
