Recall roundup: Maserati Granturismo

According to Khabarkhodro, Maserati has recently announced a recall which will affect certain Granturismo models because of faulty tail lamps.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, certain models of the 2008 – 2012 Maserati Granturismo models will be affected by this recall and owners of the Italian sports car will have to take a trip back to the dealers because of a problem with the tail lamps. The NHTSA is saying that the Maserati Granturismos have been assembled with a defective rear lamp assembly and because of this problem the lights might fail to illuminate, causing a potential accident.

Owners of the above mentioned model will be notified by the car company soon and the recall is expected to affect 1.768 units of the 2008 – 2012 Maserati Granturismo models. There’s no official word yet on reports received by either the manufacturer or the NHTSA and we don’t know whether this problem led to any crashes or injuries.

This isn’t the first time when the Maserati Granturismo is being recalled and just last year, owners of the Italian model had to take a trip back to the dealers because of faulty tie-rod ends, a problem which was noticed in the Quattroporte too.
