Recall roundup: 2003-2004 Infiniti M45

The Japanese based automaker Infiniti has recently announced a recall for the 2003-2004 M45 models because of a problem with the fuel gauge reading.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 8,120 units of the Infiniti M45 sedans, made between March 7, 2002 and June 3, 2004, will be affected by this recall and if ignored, the defect with the fuel gauge reading might leave the driver stranded because the car can run out of gas early. The defect is involving a circuit board which might cause the fuel gauge to inaccurately represent how much gas is left in the tank and the driver can become stranded.

Owners of the 2003-2004 Infiniti M45 sedans are expected to be contacted by the car manufacturer in mid-April, 2012, and they will be asked to return to their local Nissan or Infiniti dealer, where a technician will modify the circuit board to fix the fuel gauge issue. The service will be provided free of charge and the automaker is currently announcing owners to make sure that their fuel tanks are filled rather than relying on the gauge, which may not be correct
