The Tata Motors group global wholesales, including Jaguar Land Rover, were 139,655 vehicles, in March 2012, higher by 26 percent over March 2011.
For the entire 2011-12, the company’s total global sales jumped by 16 per cent to 12,52,173, units over the previous fiscal, Tata Motors said in a statement.
Sales of luxury brands from Jaguar Land Rover were at 36,471 units during March, up 51 percent from the same month last year, Tata Motors said in a statement.
Robust demand for Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles helped Tata Motors post a 41% increase in overall passenger car and SUV sales globally to 75,864 units. Sales of trucks and buses in March grew 12% to 63,791 autos.
“Global sales of Tata passenger vehicles and the distribution offtake in India of Fiat cars were at 39,393 units for the month, higher by 32 per cent over March 2011,” the company said in a statement.
Tata Motors’ global sales in March stood at 1,39,655 units.
Analysts say that a surge in global vehicle sales is coming as a boon for most players if compared to India 2011/12 car sales growth, which crashed to a 3-year low of 2.2 pct.
