MG Icon Concept SUV going to Beijing

MG will officially present to the public the Icon Concept SUV during the 2012 Beijing Motor Show on the 23rd of April.

It’s been quite a long time since MG has made its presence felt during an international automotive event and the car manufacturer is now getting ready to take on a whole new segment if its latest creation will hit the production line. The MG Icon Concept is actually a small SUV which will “fight” its way into the B-segment against popular models like the segment leader Nissan Juke or other models which have already been launched, like the Ford EcoSport or the Opel / Vauxhall Mokka, or the upcoming Peugeot 2008, a 208-based SUV.

The MG Icon Concept SUV is expected to share the same platform as the Roewe 350/MG5 and this means only one thing, that the company is actually planning to put the small crossover into production. Even if the MG Icon Concept SUV will be officially presented to the public on the 23rd of April during the 2012 Beijing Motor Show, we still don’t have any details on it and the car manufacturer is currently keeping it into the shadows. More details are expected to be announced during the Chinese automotive event later on this month.
