The first official images and details with the all-new 918 Spyder have been released by the German based automaker Porsche.

The Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid revealed is actually a pre-production version of the German supercar which is expected to rival the successor of the Ferrari Enzo, which will also hit the market as a hybrid. According to the car manufacturer, the Porsche 918 Spyder is equipped with a hybrid powertrain, which is made out of a 3.0 liter V8 mid-engine petrol burner, assisted by two electric motors, one on each axle, which will generate at least 218 horsepower each, and the total output of the supercar is expected to be over 770 HP.

Even if the Porsche 918 Spyder will have impressive performance figures, like the 0 to 100 km/h acceleration being done in just 3.2 seconds and the 320 km/h top speed, the German supercar will burn an average of 3.0 liters of fuel every 100 km and in full electric mode, the vehicle will be able to travel at least 25 km. The Porsche 918 Spyder’s body is made out of plastic and carbon fiber and it includes aerodynamic features and a rear adaptive axle which can turn. The full production version of the Porsche 918 Spyder is expected to be even more powerful once it will hit the market in September 2013. Deliveries will start by the end of 2013 and the model will cost 655,000 euros without taxes.
