Tesla Launch the One-Hour Supercharger for Model S

According to khabarkhodro ،Tesla plans to launch a new 440-volt fast-charging system for the Model S that will make the car’s battery full in only an hour.

It hasn’t been long since the 2012 Tesla Model S electric sedan went on sale and it’s already attracting many customers. The car is powered by an 85 kWh battery and reaches a 300-mile driving range. The current 240-volt charging systems top up the battery of the Model S in about 8 hours.

With the new 440-volt fast-charging system called ‘Supercharger’, Tesla plans to reduce this time to an hour. The system will hit the market in about a year. The company added that the Supercharger is not for daily use, but to refuel quickly on road trips. Initially the Superchargers will be located along high-traffic corridors, such as the I-5 running between Los Angeles and San Francisco and maybe an important route on the East Coast.

The Model S sedan with the 85 kWh battery and the future ones with 60 kWh batteries have been designed to use the Supercharger. Tesla already made a very good impression with its efficient, and attractive 2012 Model S. Bringing this new fast-charging system the company will definitely lift the bar higher
