According to the German based automaker, the Mercedes-Benz E300 Bluetec is available in the United Kingdom in two body styles, the sedan, priced at 39,645 pounds and the estate, which is more expensive and will set you back for41,435 pounds. Mercedes-Benz is saying that the E300 Bluetec hybrid is powered by a 2.2 liter four-cylinder diesel engine, producing 204 HP and 500 Nm of torque, along with an electric motor which is generating 26 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, “kept alive” by a 0.8 kWh battery.

The car company says that the electric motor is hidden inside thetransmission and it’s allowing the Mercedes-Benz E300 Bluetec hybrid to run on zero emissions at speeds up to 35 km/h but for no longer than 1 km. The diesel burner steps in after the electric motor has been “depleted” and it offers more torque and power through a 7G-Tronic transmission. The Mercedes-Benz E300 Bluetec hybrid can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.5 seconds while burning an average of 4.2 liters of fuel every 100 km and emitting 109 g/km of CO2.
