EuroNCAP: Ford B-MAX gets 5-star rating

According to khabarkhodro، The new generation of the Isuzu D-Max has recently received The safety specialists at EuroNCAP have recently awarded the all-new Ford B-MAX with a 5-star rating during the latest crash tests.

According to EuroNPAP, the Ford B-MAX has received a 92 percent in adult passenger protection, 84 percent in children protection and 67 percent in pedestrian protection, while in the active safety gear, the model produced in Romania received 71 percent. The all-new Ford B-MAX was also awarded with the “EuroNCAP Advanced” for the Ford Active City Stop, the same one fitted onto the Focus model, but it lost some points because the driver’s knees and chest aren’t too well protected in case of a front crash. The model was named “marginal” in the side pole crash test.

As a quick reminder, the 2013 Ford B-MAX has been officially presented to the public at this year’s Geneva Motor Show in March and the model is getting standard features such as the active dynamics control torque vectoring, power steering, tire pressure monitoring system, IPS (Intelligent Safety System) including front and side airbags for the driver and front passenger, knee airbags for the driver and head-shoulder airbags front and rear, Ford Easy Fuel (comfort-filler cap and misfuelling protection), ESP with traction control, ABS with EBD and other interesting things.

The Ford B-MAX is getting the 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine under its hood in two output levels, 100 HP and 120 HP which is burning 4.9 liters of fuel every 100 km and it’s emitting 114 g/km of CO2. Two diesel engines are also available for the model, the 1.5 TDCi with 75 HP and the 1.6 TDCi with 95 HP. Prices for the B-MAX start at 15,950 euros.
