BMW, the US Largest Automotive Exporter

According to khabar khodro، NAFTZ named BMW Manufacturing named the company Exporter of the Year and the recipient of its Export Achievement Award.

BMW’s Spartanburg facility in South Carolina managed to steadily increase its exports becoming the largest automotive exporter from the U.S., according to data from the U.S. Department of Commerce, gathered from last year’s value of BMW exports from this market. Currently the facility produces 1,000 vehicles daily, being the exclusive exporter of the X6 Sports Activity Coupe and the X5 An X3 Sports Activity Vehicles through the Port of Charleston. The Spartanburg facility is expected to manufacture 300,000 units this year and export almost 70% of them to more than 130 countries.

The facility was opened in 1994 and over the past 18 years it has manufactured more than 2 million vehicles. Earlier this year, BMW Manufacturing announced the investment of another $900 million to increase capacity to 350,000 vehicles by 2014 and begin production of a new model.
