According to khabarkhodro، Proton has recently pulled the wraps off the new Preve during the 2012 Australian International Motor Show in Sydney.

According to the Malaysian based automaker, the new Proton Preve will be launched in Australia from 18,990 AUD and the company says that the 1,305 kg vehicle (manual transmission) is the most technologically advanced vehicle to be produced by Proton up to date. The starting price of the new Proton Preve will be set at 18,990 AUD in Australia for the five-speed manual transmission while for the optional six-speed CVT, future owners will have to pay 20,990 AUD.

Power to the new Proton Preve is being provided by a 1.6 liter four-cylinder petrol engine, which is producing a total output of 80 kW and it has a peak torque of 150 Nm, helping the model to burn 7.2 liters of fuel every 100 km for the manual transmission and 8.0 liters of fuel every 100 km for the CVT. The entry-level Preve GX will be launched this year and the higher spec GXR will be available in 2013 in Australia. Standard features include speed sensing automatic door locking, Bluetooth, multi-function steering wheel, remote keyless entry, power windows and mirrors, rear parking sensors and more.
