2014 Audi SQ5 Heading to 2013 Detroit Auto Show

According to khabar khodro، Audi  just announced that it will showcase its 2014 SQ5 performance SUV to the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.

Last year the brand brought a diesel-powered version of the SQ5 to the Paris Motor Show, but that car wasn’t bound for the U.S. Now, the four-ring brand is swapping the diesel engine for a supercharged 3.0-liter unit with 354 hp and 346 lb-ft of torque powering all four wheels via the brand’s Quattro all-wheel drive system and an eight-speed automatic. All that will be good enough to propel the car from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.3 seconds, although that speed is capped at a 155-mph maximum.

Of course, Audi did more than just drop a more potent engine under the hood with fingers crossed. The car is also 30 millimeters lower with a stiffer suspension and 20-inch wheels. Audi didn’t include information about brakes fitted to the SQ5, but it’s safe to assume they will also be upgraded.

Just like other “S” cars, the SQ5 will also have an optional dynamic steering system which allows the driver to pick from several predetermined settings for steering feel and throttle response. The system also allows for full customization in and “individual” setting as  well.

Less than notorious for over-the-top appearance packages, Audi will offer a list of subtle exterior features to distinguish the car. Those will include a platinum gray radiator grille, unique bumpers, a roof spoiler and aluminum look mirror caps among others.

Similarly, the interior will get special touches with Nappa leather and Alcantara appointments both included as standard features in the cabin.
