Volvo Trucks’ global deliveries down 17 percent in November 2012

According to khabar khodro ،Volvo Trucks announced its deliveries fell by 17 percent in November to 9,446 vehicles compared with the same month in 2011.

In Europe, deliveries decreased by 13 percent to 3,835 trucks in total compared to November 2011. „The current slowdown in economic activity and uncertainty about the future business climate in the region is clearly having a negative impact on demand for trucks,” reads Volvo Trucks’ press release. Production of Volvo trucks in Europe has been lowered by removing shifts and using stop days for the rest of the year to meet the lower demand.

Deliveries in Asia also decreased by 19 percent to 1,132 units in total, Volvo Trucks said. In North America, Volvo Trucks deliveries fell by 24 percent to 2,243 vehicles, as concerns about the economy continued to affect the market and a combination of stop days and rate reduction is being implemented to align production with demand.

Deliveries for South America decreased 21 percent in November 2012 compared with the same month a year before. The decrease was primarily driven by lagging effects of the sluggish economy, but government stimulus efforts in Brazil are having an impact, and demand continues to improve.
