According to khabar khodro، Peugeot has recently announced the arrival of the Onyx Concept in China, during the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, on the 20th of April.

With Europe and the U.S. in recession, China is offering a new opportunity for most carmakers and one of them is Peugeot, which is flexing its muscles these days and announcing its plans to introduce the Onyx Concept to the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, this weekend. The model is a “supercar for the 21st century” and it has handcrafted copper doors, carbon fiber body panels, a carbon fiber shell and more, which will eventually make their way into production cars.

As a quick reminder, the Peugeot Onyx Concept has been unveiled in Paris. The model is 4,65 meters long, 2,20 meters wide and 1,13 meters tall and it’s getting LED lighting units, double-bubble roof with integrated air intakes and a fresh set of 20-inch allyo wheels with Michelin tires. The model is powered by a mid-mounted 3.7 liter V8 HDi FAP engine, which is producing a total output of 600 HP (441 kW), along with an electric motor generating 80 HP (59 kW). The hybrid powertrain is mated to a six-speed sequential transmission. The Onyx weighs just 1,100 kg (2,425 lbs) and it’s riding on a carbon fiber monocoque.
