Skoda Rapid hatchback planned

According to khabar khodro ،The Czech based automaker Skoda is planning to introduce a hatchback version of the Rapid, which should make its way onto the market in the “near future”.

After being launched across the Old Continent last year as a sedan, and spied as an estate on the road just a few days ago, the Skoda Rapid is ending up in our news once again, this time with a rumor, which is saying that the model will soon receive a hatchback version. According to the guys at Autocar, this has been confirmed by Andreas Hafemann, the Skoda Chinese operation’s boss, during the Shanghai Motor Show.

Our source is saying that the Skoda Rapid hatchback will be a conventional five-door model, which will “copy” the design of the Ford Focus. Additional details on the model remain unknown for the moment, but the Skoda Rapid hatchback might make its public debut in September, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. If it will indeed arrive on the market, than the Skoda Rapid hatchback will most likely share the same engine lineup with its brother, and this will include the 88 HP 1.6 TDI and the 121 HP 1.4 TSI.
