Global sales at Jaguar Land Rover up 7% in June 2013

According to Khabar Khodro, Jaguar Land Rover saw its global sales in June 2013 surge by 7 percent to 33,739, thanks to growing demand for Jaguar cars in China

The still rising demand for premium vehicles in China as well as other emerging markets has been keeping the carmaker alive and profitable, unlike other European carmakers that had to succumb to site closures

Jaguar Land Rover disclosed in April 2013 that it expect its sales in China to surge by 20 percent to 30 percent this year. The carmaker said the hike in global sales in June 2013 was booted by demand for the new Range Rover and the Jaguar F-Type, which sales commenced in China this month

The carmaker's sales in the first six months of 2013 hiked 16 percent in China, 13 percent in North America, and 6 percent in Europe. The carmaker said that total sales for both brands jumped 14 percent to 210,190 cars in the first six months of 2013
