2013 M5: Australian Price And Features Revealed

According Khabar Khodro , BMW's updated M5 powerhaus has landed in Australia, bringing a slight price hike while adding a raft of new standard features.

Priced at $229,900, the 2013 M5 sedan's list of updates is headlined by the new Competition Package.

The new pack boosts output from the M5's 4.4 litre turbo V8 from 412 to 423kW, shaving 0.1 seconds from the sedan's 0-100km/h sprint time, making for a 4.2 second run.

The key advantage to the Competition Package however is the improvements it makes to handling and dynamics.

The package also sees the M chassis control system re-tuned, with the M driving mode.

New 20-inch light alloy wheels prop-up the corners, and there's also a new exhaust system with 'Black Chrome' tips.

Away from the performance list, there's LED headlights, Lane Change Warning and Driving Assistant with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision and Pedestrian Warning alerts.

You'll also find Soft-Close doors and hands-free opening and closing for the boot-lid, along with digital radio and Navigation System Professional.

Styling updates include a subtle touch-up, with a revised M6-inspired grille and lightly updated lighting at both ends.

There's an updated cabin with the M6's three-spoke steering wheel and the new touchpad iDrive system.
