Nissan has constantly been introducing teaser images of the Terrano and now further details have emerged, including a possibility of a four-wheel drive system, about the car which is expected to launch in September.
It is already clear that the Terrano is based entirely on the Renault Duster and will be the last vehicle from consortium’s platform sharing. It is also known that the car will likely be available in both Petrol and diesel engines like the Duster. But what the Terrano is expected to have a few tricks up its sleeve to separate it from the Renault sibling. Bar the design changes, the Terrano will likely have a 4WD top end variant, a feature not seen in the Duster or the EcoSport.
The Dacia Duster is manufactured in India already bares the four-wheel drive option. So the delay in the Duster bringing it to India is likely part of an agreement to give Nissan the first-to-market advantage with the technology. Moreover, the 4WD option is unlikely to feature in the Duster until the facelift version hits Indian shores.
It is not sure as to how the 4WD option will affect the Terrano pricing.
