Citroen DSX7 SUV For Europe

According Khabar Khodro , Although the production version of Citroen's Wild Rubis SUV concept is expected to be built in China exclusively for the Chinese market, rumour has it that the French automaker's SUV could eventually make its way back to Europe.

Citroen will consider taking the production version of the Wild Rubis to European showrooms if demand in China takes off in a big way.

The production car is also expected to wear the DSX7 badge, and like the concept car will replace Citroen's familiar double chevron badging with the stylised "DS".

The DSX7 will be sized to compete with luxury SUVs like the Lexus RX, Audi Q5 and BMW X3, and will likely be offered in both AWD and FWD form.

Powertrains have not been announced, but the Wild Rubis concept featured PSA's familiar 1.6 litre turbo petrol engine sending 167kW to the front axle and an electric motor providing 52kW of power for the rear axle.

The Wild Rubis also featured a plug-in charging capability, with the electric motor offering an EV range of around 50km.

Whether any of these mechanical features find their way into the production car remains to be seen. We can expect Citroen to lift the covers on the DSX7 at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show in April.

Currently, Citroen's only SUV offering is the Mitsubishi ASX-based C4 Aircross.
