Though we use the word ‘concept’, the Mistra at Auto Shanghai looked production ready!
Hyundai will position the Mistra in between the Elantra and the Sonata when it goes on sale later this year. It will compete with the Honda Crider.
Hyundai will offer the Mistra with two engine options – a 1.8-liter petrol and a 2.0-liter petrol. While the exact specifications of these engines are unknown, a 6-speed automatic and a 6-speed manual gearbox would be the transmission options.
The Hyundai Mistra measures 4,710mm in length, 1,820mm in width and 1,470mm in height with a wheelbase spanning 2,770mm. Made exclusively for the Chinese market, the Mistra gets a new China-exclusive ‘Frost Green’ body color.
A 50:50 joint venture between Hyundai and BHMC resulted in the development of the Mistra.
