According to Khabar Khodro, Mitsubishi has announced the arrival of its 2014 ASX line-up in Australia, which sees improvements to fuel economy, standard equipment and some modest price drops.
The ASX is available in two model grades (base ASX and ASX Aspire) and two engine choices - one petrol, one diesel.
The price of entry is now $1000 less for the base model ASX petrol 2WD manual, and the ASX petrol 2WD CVT has had its price slashed by $1250.
The ASX Aspire petrol 4WD sees the biggest price drop, falling $1500 to rest at $33,490. However, the 2WD variant of the Aspire Petrol raises $250 to sit at $31,490.
Prices for the diesel-engined ASXs remain the same, with the ASX DiD auto retailing for $31,990 and the ASX Aspire DiD auto priced at $36,490.
While the auto-only 110kW/360Nm 2.2 diesel is unchanged, the 2.0 litre petrol has been finessed to improve fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
The 2.2 litre diesel powerplant is available only with a six-speed automatic and 4WD. Peak power is 110kw and peak torque is 360Nm, and average fuel economy is a claimed 5.8 l/100km.
All ASX models now get reversing sensors as well as a reversing camera as standard. Cruise control, climate control, Bluetooth, auto-folding wing mirrors and leather-wrapped steering wheels are also standard for all ASXs.
